Some cool art is coming our way from the U.S. Post Office as one of my favorite artists and famed cartoonist Chris Ware has been tabbed to be a part of the 250th anniversary of the USPS.
Ware’s contribution will be in the form of a “20-stamp pane” that combine to make one big image and will be available later this month on July 23rd or can just be pre-ordered now.
I think the is pretty great and I think more stamps should be done by cartoonists as they would be great fun to collect and compare. Also a cool way to get maybe artists we don’t see a lot of anymore to put something fun out there. From, I don’t know, Frank Miller to Todd McFarlane (thought maybe it is for specifically American artists I’m not sure).
I’ll definitely be grabbing a couple for the stash.
