This is just short mail day post, got some new shoes. When I first started this blog I never thought it would have so much Smurf content but here I am again with no less than my fourth related Smurfs post.
This is a drastically different than my previous posts on the subject where I dove into the true roots of the Smurfs, creations of the Belgian. cartoonist Peyo way back in the 1950s.
This time it’s about shoes and not comics. This time it’s about Rihanna and fashion. Yep, Fenty.
I had to snag a pair of Rihanna’s Fenty X Puma Smurf kicks.
I really liked the detail of art on the packing paper that came with the shoes. I love the touch and it probably hit me more because I am someone who is aware of the paper comic heritage of the property and a comic fan in general so anytime I see illustrations on disposable paper, making the paper in fact not disposable, it was just extra for me and a nice surprise.
Not to mention the box.
Rihanna is voicing Smurfette in the new Smurfs coming out this weekend. I’m sure all of you are familiar with Smurfette, but if you aren’t up the OG, from the essence, origin of the character I got you covered, when she appeared even before she was blonde.
Anyway, like I said, just a short post, I like to share what I’m reading, watching, and how I move in the streets.
